Julia Autumn Ford
Guitar, Voice, Piano, Ukulele, Songwriting
Julia Autumn Ford is a passionate and versatile music teacher who offers instruction in piano, guitar, ukulele, voice, and songwriting. With a deep love for nurturing creativity in students of all ages, Julia is especially devoted to helping young learners build a strong and joyful foundation in music. Her teaching journey has included students as young as 13 months and as seasoned as 87 years old, reflecting her belief that you are never too young nor too old to illuminate a love of music.
Julia is also a seasoned performer and songwriter. She is a founding member of the ethereal folk duo Belle of the Fall, a band that has toured extensively throughout the U.S. and internationally. The group has released three acclaimed albums and is currently recording their fourth. Whether performing in intimate venue or on festival stages, Julia brings warmth, authenticity, and artistry to every note.
At the Litchfield Music Center, Julia leads a variety of programs that go beyond individual lessons. She teaches general music programs for homeschool co-ops, one-on-one lessons, group lessons that emphasize not just playing an instrument, but also playing together—building musicianship, collaboration, and confidence. She hosts songwriting camps for kids, as well as community events such as drum circles, sound baths, musical meditations, and live music showcases.
Julia’s teaching is guided by the belief that music is both a personal and communal experience. Whether she’s helping a child strum their first chord or leading a room full of voices in harmony, her goal is always the same: to make music accessible, joyful, and transformative.
